This past weekend, we loaded up the Ecto-1D and took a trip to “The Yellow Rose of Texas” itself, perhaps more well-known as the city of Amarillo, Texas, for the 6th Annual AMA-Con! The Amarillo Public Library has been running AMA-Con annually since 2012. Since then, it has quadrupled in size and earned one heck of a positive reputation in the Texas Panhandle. The funds raised by the convention are used to help a number of library projects and programs for kids, teens, and adults.
We were honored to be asked to be official guests of the convention this year, and brought out Vigo (and his kitten) and a number of props to set up and pose for pictures with. We were also issued a citation from the 501st Legion for having an “unregistered blaster” in our midst, but we sent them packing, Walter Peck style. The next day, we presented them with a bill for services rendered, including ESP investigations and the capture and entrapment of three Force Ghosts.
There were also a couple of pit-stops to the infamous Big Texan Steakhouse and Brewery, as well as Cadillac Ranch, before the long drive home. It was definitely a great time, and we couldn’t be more appreciative to AMA-Con for having us out.
